About SunVest

We make it easy for people to invest in solar energy in growing markets. Our mission is to give people a triple return on investment -Empower-Enable-Earn a profit while making social and environmental impact.

At SunVest, our mission is simple – to plug the world to the sun.

We believe sunshine is one of humanity’s most valuable, yet underutilized, resources. Not only can solar energy sustainably power homes, hospitals, schools, community organisations, businesses and factories, it can also drive entire industries and economies. Solar dramatically reduces carbon emissions and air pollution, and it’s also quickly becoming the most affordable source of electricity. However, financial obstacles continue to hinder solar adoption, especially in off-grid communities. Enter SunVest, Nigeria’s first peer-to-peer solar leasing platform.

Through SunVest, anyone, anywhere in the world, can own solar energy systems and build wealth by lease to power homes and organisations in off-grid communities, with installations and maintenance taken care of by SunVest’s carefully selected solar partners. We leverage financial innovation and the power of the crowd to drive sustainable energy development and make the environmental, social and economic benefits of solar accessible and affordable for all.

Founder’s Story

Take Action.
Enable.
Empower.

We are a team of passionate men and women who have come from the field of engineering, and entrepreneurship technology. Our goal is to get your money working hard for you, everyday while helping save the planet.

The duo of Abiola Ajala and Tamilore Adenipekun has an academic background in Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovations, Engineering, Renewable Energy and Social Investment. Through their studies, it became alarmingly clear that climate change presents the most imminent threat to humanity.

Their studies led them to the conclusion that the solution is to transition the world away from fossil fuels and towards solar power, the most deployable, affordable and accessible type of renewable energy.

After eight years of building and running a renewable energy company in Nigeria. They both were moved by low adoption level of solar technology in Africa, despite Africa being one of the sunniest regions on Earth.

As they researched and learned more about the challenges of Africa’s solar industry, they realized the lack of appropriate finance products for businesses and homes to go solar, was the most common roadblock to solar deployment.

And crucially, unlike developed countries, in a sunny country like Nigeria, solar panels are so effective that subsidies are not required to provide a double-digit return on investment, at the same time.

It was this realization that sparked the idea for SunVest- universal digital peer-to-peer solar crowd investing. Abiola and Tamilore set off on a mission to close the solar funding gap by connecting the world to the sun.
